Business Intelligence in Clinical Laboratory

This course is specially dedicated to understand the financial aspects in clinical laboratory. This course is special in the sense of learning that is not taught in any academic textbook or any other certification courses. The course comprises of cost calculation of tests performed in clinical laboratory. It includes various aspects such as cost per test and cost per reportable test. The cost per reportable test is further simplified using 5M  principle under the heading of manpower cost, machine cost, material cost, method cost and mother nature (infrastructural cost). The method costing is further divided into pre analytical cost, analytical cost and port analytical cost. Analytical cost is further divided into cost of sample testing, cost quality control procedure and cost of calibration procedure. This course further also includes what are the different types of business models commonly practice in clinical laboratory. The course also has coverage of how to find out equipment and kit (reagent) utilization. Market analysis needed to be done before introducing a new test in laboratory has also been covered in one of the videos. Some other short  concepts such as revenue to expense ratio, share by revenue and share by volume have also been explained in this video series.
